For both the clients and the people that sell, you can't beat this market. There is a bunch of money here, it's an amazing place to live, and it's a great spot to have a business if you know what you're doing. That's the amazing thing about business and money.
I've learned that often times there are many people who have money- inherited or through some stocks or whatever- and because they have time and resources they decide to start a business- and sadly, often fail at it. It's easy to understand how the blinders can take over and the desire to let hope run wild is quite strong. That's why investors never go for a high risk, passionate client- because as they say "a fool and his money are soon parted". In order for a business to work, there are some simple truths.
* Is there a need?
* Do you have the best solution to that need?
* Is there a long term market for this? Repeat business?
* How about competition and risk- how do those things factor into the big picture?
* How about the industry you're in? Do you have to invest a lot? Will there be significant changes?
* Is this a fad or will it be here for 10 years?
* Do I have any kind of liability?
Frankly, my motto has always been "necessity is the Mother of invention" which is why certain apps or ideas seem to get huge so quickly. As long as you have a good solid idea of what people need and want from you, the seeds of a prospective business have taken root.
Beyond starting the business, a company needs to partner up with some talented people. A good solid Internet Consultant is going to be able to educate the client. Honest to God, if we serve our clients in the best way possible, that's how we would do it. Explain how it works, why it works, WHEN it works- and let your prospective clients put the pieces together from there!!
A good collaboration is a beautiful thing- so don't just think sales people are a huge pain in the butt because the GOOD ONES- and we are out there :) The GOOD ones- will always find a way to win and to win big!!
